He used to be the head of Ghana’s Public Utility Regulation Council (PURC), a high-ranking body entrusted with monitoring and controlling the country’s water and power companies. But in December 2007, he resigned due to disagreements with John A. Kufuor’s NPP government, which was in power at the time. He is the Old Achimotans Association’s President. The chairman of the board of directors of Airtel Communications (Ghana), Bayport Financial Services (Ghana), United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana Limited, and Ghana International School—the country’s top multicultural and international pre-university school—is Kwame Pianim.

Renowned Ghanaian business economist and investment advisor Andrews Kwame Pianim. He launched an unsuccessful presidential campaign in 1996, having spent ten years behind bars for political reasons. In Accra, he succeeded as a businessman after making a shift in direction.
