Pittman signed a contract with the Florida Tuskers on August 12, 2009.

After signing with the Denver Broncos on May 27, 2008, Pittman was expected to move from running back to fullback, but he chose to stay at running back. With Dré Bly, the cornerback, already sporting No. 32, Pittman was given No. 28 as his jersey number. To reflect the change, his official website was renamed Pittman28.com. Since then, the website has been inactive, and Pittman is no longer an NFL player.

Pittman’s neck injury resulted in his placement on season-ending injured reserve. During the 2008 season, Pittman ran 76 times for 320 yards and four touchdowns in eight games (three starts).

After the 2007 season, Pittman became a free agent.

Pittman got into a fight with Redskins safety Sean Taylor on January 7, 2006, during a Wild Card playoff game between the Buccaneers and Washington Redskins, after Taylor allegedly spat on Pittman after a play. Pittman answered by striking Taylor’s helmet. Taylor was removed from the field during the Redskins’ 17–10 victory.

Pittman32.com, his official website, was launched on March 22, 2005, but it has since been taken down. Greg Auman of the St. Petersburg Times called the website “the team’s best player site” on September 11, 2005.

Pittman’s career highs for receiving yards and rushing yards in a season were 597 (with 75 catches) in 2003 and 926 (with 75 catches) in 2004 respectively. In 2003, he recorded the greatest combination of 1,348 yards (751 rushing and 597 receiving) in a single year.

Pittman’s 2004 NFL season began with a three-game suspension after he broke the league’s personal conduct policy. He deliberately crashed his car into the one carrying his wife and child, earning him a 14-day prison sentence. Pittman’s 78-yard touchdown run against the Kansas City Chiefs on November 7, 2004, was the longest touchdown run in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history.

Pittman participated in Super Bowl XXXVII on January 26, 2003, and helped Tampa Bay defeat the Oakland Raiders 48–21 by rushing for 124 yards on 29 carries.

After entering a plea of not guilty to misdemeanor battery in January 1998, Pittman was placed on two years of probation. The Tucson Citizen revealed that the domestic violence incident had negatively impacted his draft stock. The Arizona Cardinals selected him with their 95th overall pick in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft.

Pittman attended Fresno State University and graduated. During his tenure at Fresno State, he amassed 3,017 yards through rushes. In 1996 and 1997, he was named to the Western Athletic Conference’s (WAC) Pacific Division second and first teams, respectively. Pittman belongs to the fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha. QB David Carr and QB Billy Volek were teammates of his.

Pittman completed his high school education in 1993 at San Diego, California’s Mira Mesa Senior High School. He was named to the Eastern League’s first team. Alongside his older brother Wayne Pittman, he played.
